Where Inspiration Begins

Each piece begins with a stone.
Not a sketch. Not a plan.
Lauren is drawn to raw materials — gemstones in their natural form, minerals shaped slowly beneath the earth’s surface. She studies their lines, their inclusions, their colors, their quiet energy. She lets the stone speak first.
From there, form unfolds.
LM inspired jewelry is created to honor what was already there — to accentuate the beauty formed deep within the earth and now brought into the light. Sterling silver and brass are chosen to complement, not overpower. The design emerges in conversation with the material.
Each piece carries its own presence — its own properties, its own subtle influence — created to accompany and elevate your life.

A Lifelong Love
Lauren Matsuo Grund has been collecting rocks for as long as she can remember.
As a child, she filled pockets and jars with stones gathered from beaches, trails, and backyards, drawn to their weight, their color, their quiet mystery. Before long, she began stringing beads and shaping simple jewelry of her own — captivated by texture and the magic of natural materials brought together by hand.
What began as curiosity slowly became craft.
Over the years, LM inspired grew through trunk shows, farmer’s markets, holiday pop-ups, and eventually Etsy — sharing her work with customers across the country while remaining rooted in the Pacific Northwest.
Then, in 2020, on the eve of a global pandemic, her daughter was born.
In that season, life naturally turned inward. Lauren stepped away from markets and into motherhood, learning an entirely new craft — one that asked for presence, patience, and a different kind of creativity. In the quiet and uncertainty of those years, she discovered new facets of herself beneath the surface: resilience she hadn’t yet needed, a deeper love than she had ever known, and a renewed appreciation for life’s simplest, most meaningful offerings.
As her daughter grew, something familiar began to stir again. The stones that had once filled her hands and her days had never truly left; they remained a steady, grounding presence, waiting for their next expression.
With muscle memory slowly reawakened, Lauren returned to shows, reconnecting with community and rediscovering the joy of sharing her work face-to-face.
LM inspired is not simply a business. It is a rhythm — shaped by seasons, by growth, and by return.
And the spring of 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter.

Honoring the Materials

Lauren works with materials chosen for their individuality and inherent beauty. No two stones, pearls, or organic elements are alike, and no two finished pieces are ever exactly the same.
Her process is intuitive, yet deeply informed by a reverence for traditional metalsmithing and adornment practices carried across cultures and generations. Drawing inspiration from artisans throughout history — from ancient silversmiths to contemporary global makers — Lauren incorporates time-honored techniques of shaping, setting, and finishing metal by hand.
Whether working with stone, metal, silk, or organic forms, the intention is never to overpower the material, but to frame and support it, allowing its natural character to remain central while the craftsmanship quietly enhances what the earth has already created.
Each piece carries both inspiration and lineage — rooted in earth, shaped by hand, and connected to a long human tradition of adornment.
